We can guide you through the complete new-build SAP process. Initially working to produce the As-Designed SAP calculations and later the As-Built SAP calculations and Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
As designed stage
Initially we will work with you to ascertain what services you require and what information we need to produce all of the relevant SAP documentation to be submitted to Building Control as part of your Building Regulations application.
As built stage
When the dwelling has been built and the construction methods and specification are confirmed, we can produce the final version of the SAP calculations and then release the Energy Performance Certificate. The EPC is required for your completion certificate.
The one key point – even more important than those above, is to start early. If we receive a set of plans half way through a build, there’s not a lot we can do to change the energy performance of that building.
START EARLY
This scenario also leads to much bad practice and usually the installation of unsuitable, expensive technologies added in hindsight just to pass building regs or to meet a planning condition.
Avoid this by engaging with your SAP assessor as early in the process as possible – often this will be well before planning has even been submitted, and certainly well before building regs applications.
