SAP calculations

If you are embarking on a new-build project then you will need an SAP calculation to comply with part L of the building regulations. We can provide you with an As-Designed SAP Calculation, As-Built SAP Calculation, predictive EPC, and new build EPC. Ideally, you need to commission this work during the design stages of your project, however, we can advise on how to achieve compliance at whatever stage your project is.

In order to produce your SAP calculation we will require:

  • The completed form that will be sent on confirmation of instruction

  • U-value certificates

  • Site layout and location plan showing orientation and nearby buildings (CAD and PDF’s preferable)

  • Drawings – Floor Plans, Sections and External Elevations (CAD and PDF’s preferable)

  • Window and Door Schedule and specification

  • Lighting and heating specification

  • Thermal bridging details and Psi Value calculations.

  • Any changes to the initial design once the project is complete

There will be no need for us to visit your property so we can offer this service throughout the UK.

We specialise in self-build projects and passive house designs.

Every building project is different so please contact us for a free quote.

U-VALUE CALCULATIONS

We provide a desktop calculation service and certificate for U-Values. Expressed in W/m2K and used to calculate the amount of heat lost through a building’s walls, roof and floors. Low U-values indicate excellent thermal performance capable of reducing heat loss, improving energy efficiency and promoting indoor comfort.

U-values are measured in W/m2K and when it comes to insulation, low U-values indicate solutions which offer excellent thermal performance capable of reducing heat loss, improving energy efficiency and promoting indoor comfort.

We provide certification to prove thermal efficiency and building regulation compliance.

At Laing Bespoke Energy (LBE) we care as much about reducing the environmental impact and running costs of domestic buildings as you do. We use our knowledge of the latest cutting edge technology to provide low carbon consultancy for new-build domestic buildings.

We work with architects, self-builders, home owners, developers and communities across the UK, as well as advising on the planning stages of projects. Every project is unique, so we provide bespoke solutions, based on the needs of our clients and the individual challenges of each project.

Our approach is always ‘fabric first’. We look at the materials that make up each building and make sure they are of a good standard, before considering the best technology to install. This means that our clients do not waste money on unsuitable technology. Demand for low carbon and renewable technology is increasing and technology is evolving all the time. The continual innovation in the industry makes it is hard to navigate the range of options now available without expert support. That is where LBE  can help. We are totally independent and are not tied to a particular technology company, which frees us up to select the right technology for your project.

PERFORMANCE, cONSTRUCTION & MATERIAL ADVICE

SELF-BUILD

At Laing Bespoke Energy we understand the huge amount of hard work and sheer determination it takes to self-build. This is where we started before going into business!

When we work with you our first step is to understand exactly what you want from your new home and how you will live in it.

We combine that knowledge with the latest low carbon technology and materials to provide recommendations that deliver exactly what you need. This avoids the risk of you spending more than you need to on technologies that are not right for your project.

Floor Plans

We can provide marketing floor plans to help visualise the plan of a property. Floor plans are available for domestic properties and are a valuable tool when attracting potential buyers or tenants. An electronic measurement device is used to survey the property and create a floor plan with both metric and imperial room sizes.

The average property can take approximately an hour to survey and will require access to every part of the building. Plans are sent in PDF format however other formats are available on request.
